| dc.description | Se reporta la adaptación y evaluación de un método de integración sensorial como instrumento de intervención en niños con déficit visual severo. El método adaptado se administró preliminarmente a una muestra constituida por 25 niños ciegos o limitados visualmente congénitos, entre 1 y 6 años de edad. Se utilizó un método cualitativo de análisis para describir las actividades de los niños en las categorías de responsividad, grado de adaptación, lenguaje y comunicación, motricidad, conducta exploratoria y juego. También se analizaron las dimensiones del método (material de estimulación y participación de un adulto) en relación a su aplicabilidad en la intervención con niños ciegos. Los resultados muestran que el método tendría aplicabilidad en la estimulación del desarrollo psicomotor y cognitivo en niños ciegos o limitados visuales en edad preescolar. | es-ES |
| dc.description | The adaptation and evaluation of a method for sensorial integration used as an intervention instrument in visually handicapped children is reported. A preliminary application of the adapted method was carried out in a sample of 25 congenite visually impaired children, between the ages of 1 and 6. A qualitative method of analysis was used to describe children’s activities in categories such as responsiveness, adaptability, language and communication, mobility, and exploratory and playing behavior. Dimensions of the method were also analyzed (the stimulation material and adult participation) concerning the applicability of the intervention to blind children. Results showed that this method could be used to stimulate cognitive and psychomotor development in blind or visually handicapped infants at and early stage. | en-US |
