En el presente artículo se presentan los resultados de una investigación que tuvo como objetivo identificar y describir los aspectos que considera el niño al momento de producir un texto narrativo. Se analizaron los cuentos escritos por niños de los niveles escolares de segundo, tercero y cuarto básico, tomando como base para el análisis tres dimensiones del texto: superestructura, estructura semántica y estructura pragmática. El objetivo es aportar a profesores y profesoras algunas clavespara reconocer cuáles son las competencias que debe tener un niño al momento de enfrentar la tarea de producir un cuento. A su vez, se otorgan herramientas para que identifiquen las características que dicho texto debe poseer para que resulte coherente y logre transmitir un mensaje. Lo anterior se constituiría en la base a partir de la cual los y las docentes podrían intervenir de manera más efectiva en el desarrollo de la competencia textual de cada uno de sus estudiantes.This article presents the results of a study whose objective was to identify and describe the aspects that a child considers when producing a narrative text. Stories written by children of second, third and fourth grade are analyzed, considering as basis of analysis three dimensions of text: superstructure, semantic structure and pragmatic structure. The object is to give teachers a few keys in order to recognize which competencies a child must have when facing the task of producing a story. Likewise, tools are given that allow them to identify the characteristics those texts must have, in order to result coherent and transmit a message. This would constitute a basis from which teachers may intervene more effectively in the development of text competency in their students.
