| dc.description | The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between social support (family, peers and teachers) and emotional intelligence. A sample of 1543 adolescents, 728 boys (47.18%) and 815 (52.81%) girls, whose ages ranged from 11 to 18 (Mage = 14.24, SD = 1.63), was employed in this study. The statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 21 for Windows program. On the one hand, Pearson correlations indicated that social support and emotional intelligence are meaningful and positively correlated in boys and girls in the sample. On the other hand, multivariate regression analyses showed the predictive capability that the three types of social support have on emotional intelligence in both genders. | en-US |
| dc.description | El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la relación entre el apoyo social (familiar, amistades y profesorado) y la inteligencia emocional (atención, claridad y reparación). La muestra está compuesta por 1543 adolescentes, 728 chicos (47.18%) y 815 chicas (52.81%), entre los 11 y 18 años (Medad = 14.24, DT = 1.63). Los análisis estadísticos se llevan a cabo con el programa SPSS 21 para Windows. Los resultados del análisis correlacional señalan que el apoyo social y la inteligencia emocional están significativamente relacionados en ambos sexos. Por otro lado, el análisis de regresión demuestra la capacidad predictiva de los diferentes apoyos en la inteligencia emocional tanto en la muestra masculina como en la femenina. | es-ES |
