Resumen: Este trabajo tiene un carácter exploratorio y pretende aplicar un conjunto de indicadores duros y que se construyen en base a información pública, para medir la calidad institucional de las universidades públicas regionales. Se pretende establecer la existencia de diferencias muy relevantes en cuanto a calidad, en este universo relativamente homogéneo de universidades que disponen de una cantidad similar de recursos financieros, están reguladas por el mismo cuerpo legal y tienen una estructura similar de gobierno. Si se encuentran diferencias apreciables, éstas podrían explicarse por la calidad de la gestión institucional. Un segundo objetivo consiste en comparar los resultados del instrumento aplicado, con los años de acreditación otorgados por la CNAP a cada institución, con el objeto de establecer si se da cierta correlación entre ambos estadísticos. Abstract: This paper has an exploratory character and intends to implement a set of indicators that are built tough and based on public information, to measure the institutional quality of regional public universities. We sought to establish the existence of very significant differences in terms of quality, in this relatively homogenous universe of universities, that have a similar amount of financial resources, are regulated by the same body of law and have a similar structure of government. If there are significant differences, these could be explained by the quality of institutional management. A second objective is to compare the results of the instrument applied, with the years of accreditation granted by the CNAP to each institution, in order to establish whether there is some correlation between the two statistical.
