This is effected through a meticulous tracing of facts and characters present both in the Old and the New Testament. The female narrator assumes the character of an evangelical voice relating the life of D. Manuel, a humble parish priest, in whom the figures of Mases and Christ are fused, together whith diverse facts related to them.
