| dc.description | In the healing practices of the guayacundos from the Piura Mountains, oral literature plays a fundamental role related to the ancestral knowledge of that region’s peoples. The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between the manifestations of oral literature and the healing practices of the guayacundos in the traditional medicine of Huancabamba. To this end, we study the function of invocations, prayers and songs in the ceremonial discourse of the guayacundos. Additionally, we analyze the participation of religious and mythical thinking in the healing ritual. Findings include that different genres of oral tradition are the foundations of the ceremonial discourse of Huancabamba healers. | en-US |
| dc.description | En las prácticas curativas de los guayacundos de la Sierra de Piura, la literatura oral cumple un rol fundamental que se relaciona con el saber ancestral de los pueblos de la región. El objetivo del artículo es analizar la relación existente entre las manifestaciones de la literatura oral y las prácticas curativas de los guayacundos en la medicina tradicional de Huancabamba. Para tal fin, se estudia la función de las invocaciones, los rezos y los cantos en los discursos ceremoniales de los guayacundos. Asimismo, se analiza la intervención del pensamiento religioso y mítico en el ritual curativo. El trabajo concluye que diferentes géneros de la tradición oral sirven de base a los discursos ceremoniales de los curanderos de Huancabamba. | es-ES |
