Interviews with four Bogota film festivals pretends to reveal motivations, challenges and positions about their labor, highlighting their major role in alternative film exhibition. Testimonies of Bogoshorts film festival, MIDBO, El Espejo and Smartfilms seek to highlight their perspective on how they conceive the purpose of their events and reveals other challenges around the realization and management of those events. Besides, the role of an audience formator, attributed by the Colombian State, is contrasted with the declarations of programmers and creators of these events. In this way, this paper also includes testimonies of employees the Ministry of Culture and Bogota´s Cinematheque, with the purpose to put in dialogue what festivals expressed about their management challenges.A partir de entrevistas a cuatro festivales de cine bogotanos se ahonda en las motivaciones, retos y posturas de un sector que representa a la exhibición alternativa. Los testimonios de los festivales Bogoshorts, MIDBO, El Espejo y Smartfilms buscan visibilizar su perspectiva en torno a cómo conciben la finalidad de sus eventos y así mismo revelan otros retos en torno a la realización de la gestión de un festival de cine. A partir de la función de formación de públicos, atribuida por el Estado colombiano, se contrasta este postulado con lo que los propios programadores y creadores de estos eventos declaran. De esta forma también se incluyen testimonios de los representantes del Ministerio de Cultura y la Cinemateca de Bogotá, los cuales ponen en dialogo lo expresado por los festivales sobre la finalidad de su labor.
