The text of the “Conquista Espiritual del Reino de Chile”, of the Jesuit Diego de Rosales, is a do-cument that not only tells the particular circumstances of the lives of various religious of the Order (Brothers and Priests), but also constitutes a referential text concerning the discursive manifestation, textual typology and characterization of Spanish of Chile of the time itself. It should be noted that, although we are in the presence of a prominent religious, of an Order characteristically well represented, among other things, the linguistic-cultural aspects, the text we studied, from this perspective, is rather far from those standards and more close to what we have seen in other documentation varied in nature, in the Kingdom of Chile during the colonial period.This article presents the most relevant aspects in terms of word syntax, syntactic cons-tructions and verbal flection, according to a previous morphosyntactic characterization, which will serve as initial theoretical framework, which has been cited in Contreras (2009) which will serve as matrix features.Regarding the first, the matrix includes the characterization of nouns (gender, suffixes), adjectives (superlatives, suffixes), prepositions, adverbs, determiners (articles), use of pro-nouns (order unstressed pronouns, relative pronouns) and leísmo, laísmo and loísmo. Moreo-ver, as for the second aspect, it will consider aspects of the construction of the noun phrase, transitivity and intransitivity, passive formations, with “se”, subordination, predication, nega-tion and construction of the verbal phrase. Finally, regarding verbal inflection, the use of ten-ses, the use of specific verbs, verbal tense/sentence syntax relationship, temporary adverbial complements, use of auxiliaries and non personal forms of verbs.  El texto de la “Conquista Espiritual del Reino de Chile”, del jesuita Diego de Rosales, es un do-cumento que no sólo relata las particulares circunstancias de la vida de diversos religiosos de la Orden (Hermanos y Sacerdotes), sino que además se constituye como un texto referencial en cuanto a la propia manifestación discursiva, a la tipología textual y a la caracterización del español de Chile de la época. Cabe señalar que, si bien estamos en presencia de un religioso destacado de una Orden característicamente muy bien representada, entre otras cosas, en lo lingüístico-cultural, el texto que estudiamos, desde esta perspectiva, está más bien alejado de esos estándares y más cercano a lo que hemos podido observar en otra documentación, de variada naturaleza, en el Reino de Chile, durante el período colonial. En  este  artículo  presentaremos  los  aspectos  más  relevantes  en  cuanto  a  la  sintaxis  de  palabras, las construcciones sintácticas y la flexión verbal, de acuerdo a una caracterización morfosintáctica previa, que servirá de marco teórico inicial, la cual ha sido citada en Contreras (2009) y servirá como matriz de rasgos.En relación con la primera, la matriz contempla la caracterización de sustantivos (géneros, sufijaciones), adjetivos (superlativos, sufijaciones), preposiciones, adverbios, determinantes (artículos), uso de los pronombres (orden de los pronombres átonos, pronombres relativos), así como el leísmo, laísmo y loísmo. Por otra parte, en cuanto al segundo aspecto, considerará los aspectos de la construcción del sintagma nominal, de la transitividad e intransitividad, las formaciones pasivas, las construcciones con “se”, subordinación, predicación, negación y construcción del sintagma verbal. Por último, en cuanto a la flexión verbal, el empleo de los tiempos verbales, el uso de verbos específicos, relación tiempo verbal/sintaxis oracional, complementos adverbiales temporales, uso de verbos auxiliares y de formas no personales del verbo.
