| dc.description | Nowadays, it is common to hear about the interruption in the use and transmission of the mapuche language in the new mapuche generations. This fact is becoming grave due to some researchers observe a decrease in the number of speakers of mapuche language. Consequently, they predict that this language will be replaced by Spanish. In this work, we suggest that it is possible to deal this problem from another perspective and, at the same time, we propose to check some of the linguistic, educational or social factors that are supposed to be responsible for considering the mapuche language as an endangered language. Finally, as a conclusion, we note some considerations that must be present to face the eventual weakening of the vitality or demise of the mapuche language. | en-US |
| dc.description | Es común escuchar que hoy por hoy existe una interrupción en el uso y la transmisión de la lengua mapuche en las generaciones jóvenes mapuche. Este hecho se torna más grave aún por cuanto algunos estudiosos observan una disminución del número de sus hablantes y, en consecuencia, vaticinan que la dinámica de la lengua mapuche es de una transformación tendiente a su desaparición y completo reemplazo por el castellano. En este trabajo, sugerimos que es posible dar otra lectura al problema y, al mismo tiempo, observamos la conveniencia de revisar algunos de los supuestos factores, ya sean lingüístico, educacional, social, etc., que se han esgrimido como factores que pudieran estar incidiendo. Finalmente, a manera de conclusión, señalamos algunas consideraciones que debieran tenerse presente para enfrentar el eventual riesgo de debilitamiento de la vitalidad y/o desaparición en que podría verse afectada la lengua mapuche. | es-ES |
