| dc.description | This article –part of the FONDECYT investigation project 1030982: “The academic discourse: representation and update of the report genre in the written communication between teachers and pupils”, directed by PhD Ana María Harvey– has as a main objective the analysis of some of the rhetorical strategies (‘moves’, in Swales’s terms, 1990) used by university students of three different areas, when writing the Conclusion section of research articles. A work of this nature is of great interest, since it allows deepening into the way in which less expert members of university academic communities begin to elaborate their discursive practices and to overturn in these the knowledge they have been acquiring in their process of indoctrination. The approach of the study is fundamentally of sociodiscursive character (Bajtin, 1997; Berkenkotter, 1995; Adam, 2001; Charaudeau, 2002; Swales, 1990, among others) in its approximation to the type of discursive genre in analysis: the research report. The results allow to affirm that there would exist a use of the discursive subgenre’s own conventional rhetorical strategies on the part of the students, and that the possible similarities and/or differences may be attributed to the specific needs of each knowledge area, and to other factors such as the task for which the research report has been elaborated. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo –que forma parte del proyecto de investigación FONDECYT 1030982 “El discurso académico: representación y actualización del género informe en la comunicación escrita entre docentes y alumnos”, dirigida por la Dra. Ana María Harvey– tiene como principal objetivo el análisis de algunas de las estrategias retóricas (‘moves’, en términos de Swales, 1990) empleadas por alumnos universitarios, de tres diferentes áreas, al redactar la sección Conclusión de los artículos de investigación. Una labor de esta naturaleza resulta de gran interés, ya que permite profundizar en la manera en que los miembros menos expertos de las comunidades académicas universitarias comienzan a elaborar sus prácticas discursivas y a volcar en éstas el conocimiento que han ido adquiriendo en su proceso de adoctrinamiento. El enfoque del estudio es fundamentalmente de carácter sociodiscursivo (Bajtín, 1997; Berkenkotter, 1995; Adam, 2001, Charaudeau, 2002; Swales, 1990, entre otros) en su aproximación al tipo de género discursivo en análisis: el informe de investigación. Los resultados permiten afirmar que existiría una utilización por parte de los alumnos de las estrategias retóricas convencionales propias del subgénero discursivo y que las posibles semejanzas y/o diferencias pueden atribuirse a las necesidades específicas de cada área del conocimiento y a otros factores como la tarea para la cual el informe de investigación ha sido elaborado | es-ES |
