This work presents a description of the morphosyntactical and semantic levels of Chilean Spanish periphrastic expressions, with the “estar que + verbal phrase” structure and imminence aspect value. The purpose of this article is to find characteristics that allow to posit their degree of grammaticalization. The analysis shows clear morphosyntactical and semantic differences with respect to similar constructions described by some Spanish grammars; these differences allow positing this construction as a whole of one meaning En este trabajo se presenta una descripción del nivel morfosintáctico y semántico de un corpus de expresiones de tipo perifrástico, con la estructura “estar que + frase verbal” y valor aspectual de inminencia,  provenientes del español de Chile. Se busca encontrar en estas expresiones características que permitan plantearse su grado de gramaticalización. El análisis da cuenta de claras diferencias semánticas y morfosintácticas con respecto a construcciones similares descritas por algunas gramáticas españolas; estas diferencias permiten postular esta construcción como un todo de significado único.
