| dc.description | To cope with the increasing demands in the area of translation, developed countries have implemented machine translation (MT) programs in order to optimize the translator's work. Nevertheless, the absence of clear criteria to decide on the best translation method, whether human translation (HT) or MT, has posed obstacles to the ejjicient application of MT programs. Sin embargo, la ausencia de criterios claros para decidir el método más adecuado de traducción, sea este traducción humana o traducción automática, impide que los programas de TA se utilicen en forma eficiente. El objetivo de este artículo será determinar todas las variables que el traductor profesional debe considerar al recibir un trabajo de traducción.
