| dc.description | Este artículo da cuenta de un análisis sociolingüístico llevado a cabo en una muestra aleatoria de Cartas al Director del diario chileno de circulación nacional “El Mercurio”. El análisis lingüístico se centró en el remitente de la carta, el tema de la misma, el destinatario directo y el destinatario indirecto. Los aspectos sociales se refirieron a la ubicación de remitente y destinatarios en una escala de distancia/solidaridad social y en una escala de formalidad en el registro lingüístico.
