| dc.description | This articles deals with the Sociedad Orfeón created in Santiago, Chile, the year 1868 and Las Bellas Artes, created in Santiago, Chile, the year 1869. Both proyects were carried out at the beginning of the political transition in Chile from the then predominant conservative ideology to the consolidation of theliberalism as the predominant political ideology in Chile at the beginnings of the 1870’s. A group of important composers and musicians residing in Chile during the 19th century took part in these two projects. The goal of both the Sociedad Orfeón and Las Bellas Artes was the renewal of Chilean musical activity at the end of the 1860’s and the beginnings of the 1870’s as regards music performance, music composition, musical editions and writings about music. Besides both projects are considered as instances of musical associations of the civil society during the initial years of modernity in Chile. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente trabajo aborda de manera conjunta dos proyectos, la Sociedad Orfeón creada en Santiago, Chile, en 1868 y la revista Las Bellas Artes, creada en Santiago, Chile en 1869, en el marco del inicio de la transición política en Chile entre el predominio de la ideología conservadora y la consolidación de la ideología liberal, que alcanzaría preeminencia política a partir de la década de 1870. Ambos proyectos incorporaron a un grupo de importantes compositores y músicos del siglo XIX residentes en Chile, que buscaron, al alero de la Sociedad Orfeón y Las Bellas Artes, renovar la escena musical chilena de fines de la década de 1860 e inicios de 1870, tanto en lo que respecta a la interpretación de la música, la creación musical, como en las ediciones musicales y los escritos sobre música. Asimismo, ambos proyectos se consideran en cuanto instancias de asociatividad musical de la sociedad civil en el advenimiento de la modernidad en Chile. | es-ES |
