dc.descriptionThe following article tries to expose a reconstruction of the social representations of sexual diversity. Our analysis centers around the question: How do teachers who teach a citizenship subject in a Higher Education Institution of the Metropolitan Region located in the commune of Santiago represent sexual diversity? We conducted semi-structured interviews to investigate their assessments and experiences through questions induced with audiovisual stimuli. According to our investigation, it was possible to conclude that the participants’ knowledge about sexual diversity is not formal, thus destructuring the representation of the object. On the other hand, teachers’ attitude towards this topic is primarily positive, without failing to recognize a slight hint of negativity depending on the context. However, being mainly positive, the representation of the participants is one of normalization, understanding, and acceptance. It is important to note that, as in other studies, it was possible to perceive that the teachers’ social representations of sexual diversity are still under construction.en-US
dc.descriptionEl siguiente artí­culo trata de exponer una reconstrucción de las representaciones sociales sobre la diversidad sexual. Esto se llevó a cabo bajo la pregunta ¿Cómo se representan la diversidad sexual docentes que imparten una asignatura de ciudadaní­a en una Institución de Educación Superior de la Región Metropolitana, con sede en la comuna de Santiago? Para poder contestar esta problemática se realizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas que permitieran pesquisar sus valoraciones y vivencias individuales, por medio de preguntas inducidas por estí­mulos audio-visuales. De acuerdo con lo investigado, se pudo concluir que el conocimiento que tienen los participantes sobre la diversidad sexual no es formal, lo cual desestructura la representación del objeto. Por otra parte, se pudo apreciar que la actitud de los docentes, frente a esta temática, es mayormente positiva, sin dejar de reconocer un leve atisbo de negatividad según el contexto en el que se presente. Sin embargo, al ser principalmente positiva, el campo de representación de los participantes es de normalización, compresión y aceptación. Es importante destacar que, al igual que en otros estudios, se pudo percibir que las representaciones sociales de los profesores sobre la diversidad sexual, aún se encuentran en construcciónes-ES
