dc.descriptionThe urban expansion on Mapuche communities in Araucanía is contested by the Ignacia Ñeicurrai Indigenous Community in the commune of Padre Las Casas. The Community has been under pressure for a series of real estate and infrastructure projects; however, it manages to sustain the space they inhabit and that makes up their Lof, human and more-than-human family relationships. This process highlights the need to think about urban development beyond its modern project and open paths towards ways of thinking about the urban from other ways of dwelling and that allow coexistence between them. Based on documentary information and collaborative work with people from the Community, the text proposes to understand this type of conflict as one of coexistence, providing elements that, besides to identify the continuity in the processes of territorial dispossession, contribute to imagining other urban futures, questioning the colonial categories that sustain urbanism and current planning.en-US
dc.descriptionLa expansión urbana sobre comunidades mapuche en la Araucanía es resistida por la Comunidad Indígena Ignacia Ñeicurrai en la comuna de Padre Las Casas. La Comunidad ha estado bajo presión por una serie de proyectos inmobiliarios y de infraestructura, no obstante, ha logrado sostener el espacio que habitan y que conforma su Lof, sus relaciones familiares humanas y más que humanas. Este proceso pone en escena la necesidad de pensar el desarrollo urbano más allá de su proyecto moderno y abrir caminos hacia formas de pensar lo urbano desde otros modos de habitar y que permitan la coexistencia entre ellos. Basado en información documental y de trabajo colaborativo con personas de la Comunidad, el texto plantea estos conflictos como conflictos de coexistencia, entregando elementos que, junto a identificar la continuidad de procesos de desposesión territorial, aporten a imaginar otros futuros urbanos, cuestionando las categorías coloniales que sustentan el urbanismo y la planificación actual.es-ES
