| dc.description | The main objective of this paper is to establish the differences and coincidences between the thought of Leo Strauss and Carl Schmitt, in their criticism of liberalism. To do this, we will review the concept of sovereignty, liberalism and political theology that both authors have in order to understand the difference between legal positivism and the concept of the political that underlies their criticism. Finally, we will offer a brief reflection on how political philosophy would help clarify this antagonistic relationship in order to overcome liberalism. | dc.description | El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal establecer las diferencias y coincidencias que tiene el pensamiento de Leo Strauss y Carl Schmitt, en su crítica al positivismo. Para ello, revisaremos el concepto de soberanía, liberalismo y teología política que tiene ambos autores con el fin de entender la diferencia entre el positivismo jurídico y el concepto de lo político que subyace a su crítica. Por último, ofreceremos una breve reflexión de cómo la filosofía política ayudaría a aclarar esta relación antagónica con el fin de superar el liberalismo.
