This review has the objective to describe the linguistic perceptions and beliefs towards the Spanish spoken in Chile. The research has a stratified sample of 108 informants from Antioquia’s Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley in Colombia. They are distributed into social factors such as sex, age and educational level following the parameters of the Project for the study of beliefs and attitudes towards Spanish varieties in the XXI century (PRECAVES XXI). Results from the survey’s data show that in Antioquia there is a good identification of the Spanish spoken in Chile, leaded by the young generation and the university students. Futhermore, antioquian people consider that people in Chile have a well-qualified job position, a medium level income, a high school degree, and that their country and culture seem to be interesting, but unfamiliar and slightly distant.El presente artículo tiene como objetivo describir las percepciones y creencias lingüísticas que tiene una muestra de 108 colaboradores del Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá de Antioquia, Colombia, hacia la variedad de habla chilena. Estos entrevistados están distribuidos según variables sociales de sexo, edad y nivel educativo, en el marco del Proyecto para el estudio de las creencias y actitudes hacia las variedades del español en el siglo XXI (PRECAVES XXI). A partir de los resultados de las encuestas del proyecto se puede afirmar que en Antioquia hay una buena identificación de la variedad chilena, liderada por la generación joven y el grupo de estudios universitarios. Además, los antioqueños consideran que los chilenos tienen un puesto de trabajo bien cualificado, un nivel de ingresos medio, un nivel de estudios secundario, y que el país y la cultura son interesantes, pero poco familiares y ligeramente distantes.
