| dc.description | The purpose of this study is to determine the predominant learning style in students from 1st to 5th year of the Nursing career, Santo Tomas University, Puerto Montt campus. It is a descriptive research with a quantitative approach, not experimental, since the data collection is obtained in a methodical and logical way from numerical figures, thus achieving the analysis of the data of each Learning Styles Test according to D. Kolb, whose instrument is scientifically validated both in Chile and abroad. The students corresponding to the sample (N = 157) correspond 80% to women (n = 125) and the remaining 20% ??to men (n = 32), who were randomly recruited after taking the final exams of the subjects of the second semester of 2017 who voluntarily and after accepting and signing the informed consent, answered the test. The results of the research determine that of the 157 students from 1st to 5th year of the Nursing career, the predominant learning style is Divergent represented by 52%, (n = 82), followed by the Accommodating style with 28% (n = 44) and the assimilating style represented by 14% (n = 21). Finally, the least predominant learning style in students is the convergent style represented by 6% (n = 10). The results of the research are of great importance for the School of Nursing and its teachers, since the necessary information is obtained about the predominant learning style in nursing students, being able to contribute in a better way in the teaching-learning method of the students in the classrooms and, in parallel, optimizing the integration of knowledge and the training of new and better professionals in the health area. | en-US |
| dc.description | El presente estudio tiene como propósito determinar el estilo de aprendizaje predominante en los alumnos de 1° a 5° año de la carrera de Enfermería, Universidad Santo Tomas, sede Puerto Montt. Es una investigación de tipo descriptiva con un enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental, puesto que la recolección de datos son obtenidas de forma metódica y lógica a partir de cifras numéricas, lográndose así el análisis de los datos de cada Test de Estilos de Aprendizaje según D. Kolb, cuyo instrumento está científicamente validado tanto en Chile como en el extranjero. Los estudiantes correspondientes a la muestra (N= 157) corresponden en un 80 % a mujeres (n=125) y el 20% restante a hombres (n=32), quienes fueron captados de forma azarosa post rendición de exámenes finales de las asignaturas del segundo semestre del 2017 quienes de forma voluntaria y previa aceptación y firma del consentimiento informado, respondieron el test. Los resultados de la investigación determinan que de los 157 estudiantes de 1° a 5° año de la carrera de Enfermería, el estilo de aprendizaje predominante es el Divergente representado en un 52%, (n=82), seguidamente por el estilo Acomodador con un 28 %(n=44) y el estilo asimilador representado por un 14%(n=21). Finalmente, el estilo de aprendizaje menos predominante en los estudiantes es el estilo convergente representado por un 6% (n=10). Los resultados de la investigación son de gran importancia para la Escuela de Enfermería y sus docentes, ya que, se obtiene la información necesaria sobre el estilo de aprendizaje predominante en los estudiantes de enfermería, pudiendo contribuir de mejor manera enel método de enseñanza aprendizaje de los estudiantes en las aulas y, de manera paralela, optimizar la integración de los conocimientos y la formación de nuevos y mejores profesionales en el área de la salud. | es-ES |
