| dc.description | The “Teacher Education Study in Mathematics” (TEDS-M), which is carried out under the aegis of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), is a comparative study of teacher education with a focus on the preparation of teachers of mathematics at the primary and lower secondary levels. The overall goal of this study is to fínd better ways to help teachers learn what they need to know to teach mathematics well at these school levels. TEDS-M will pay particular attention to the links between teacher education policies, practices and outcomes in about 15 countries. The study will provide participating countries with a valuable opportunity to conduct research on their own teacher education system and to learn from approaches used in other countries. | en-US |
| dc.description | El proyecto “Teacher Education Study in Mathematics” (TEDS-M) es un estudio comparativo patrocinado por la International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). El objetivo general del estudio, que aún está en ejecución, es encontrar mejores estrategias o modelos de formación de profesores de enseñanza básica con focalización curricular en matemáticas y pedagogía. El estudio examinará los procesos de formación inicial docente llevados a cabo en unos quince países. Cada estudio nacional analizará los vínculos entre políticas educacionales, prácticas y resultados, con el fin de determinar los factores que más influyen en la formación de profesores de matemáticas. Este proyecto entregará una valiosa oportunidad a los países participantes para explorara sus sistemas de formación docente y aprender de modelos de formación de profesores de matemáticas utilizados en otros países. | es-ES |
