dc.descriptionThis study analyzes the phonological patterns of late-stage consonant clusters (CCs) acquisition, with the aim of exploring the transition between ages 4 and 5. The types of CCs (tautosyllabic/heterosyllabic), 22 of their subtypes, the types of strategies (deletion/substitution), and the types of C1 and C2 singletons (/l/, /r/, /m/, /n/, /s/) were taken into account. The participants were 20 Chilean preschoolers aged 4 and 5 (10/10) with typical language development (TD) monolingual Spanish speakers. The results show differences in the percentages of acquisition by age which indicate that at the age of 5 children are already in a stage of resolution of the CCs phonological patterns. It is noted that from the age of 4, a critical transition occurs that can be observed through the types and subtypes of CCs, strategies and singletons types; its implications in the diagnosis of phonological disorders in relation to phonological awareness and the learning of reading are pointed out.en-US
dc.descriptionEste estudio analiza los patrones fonológicos de adquisición de los grupos consonánticos (GC) en etapas tardías, con el objetivo de explorar la transición entre 4 y 5 años. Se tuvieron en cuenta los tipos de GC (homosilábicos/heterosilábicos), 22 de sus subtipos, los tipos de estrategias (omisión/sustitución) y los tipos de segmentos C1 y C2 (/l/, /ɾ/, /m/, /n/, /s/). Los participantes fueron 20 niños preescolares chilenos de 4 y 5 años (10/10) con desarrollo típico del lenguaje (DT) hablantes monolingües de español. Los resultados muestran diferencias en los porcentajes de adquisición por edad que indican que a los 5 años los niños se hallan ya en una etapa de resolución de los patrones fonológicos de los GC. Se constata que a partir de los 4 años se produce una transición crítica observable a través de los tipos y subtipos de GC, de las estrategias y de los tipos de segmentos, y se señalan sus implicaciones en el diagnóstico de los trastornos fonológicos y en relación con la conciencia fonológica y el aprendizaje de la lectura.es-ES
