| dc.description | The Mapuche language, the predominant language among indigenous languages in Chile, exhibits a variety of dialects with varying levels of preservation in the geographical areas where it is currently spoken. The study presented here has been designed to obtain a sociolinguistic diagnosis of the Mapuche-Huilliche subgroup located in the tenth region. From this southern group, we know so far that they speak a dialect particularly distinct from the rest of the Mapuche and that it is in the process of extinction (excerpt from the article). | en-US |
