This article attempts at stating concisely the idea W. Dilthey had conceived about philosophy. The three prevailing conceptions of the world, according to Dilthey, in the history of philosophy are analyzed here. These conceptions irrationally guide our preferences and lead our estimations, thus characterizing the different ways of understanding philosophy.   Se trata de explicitar en forma sucinta la imagen que de la filosofía se había forjado G. Dilthey. Se examina brevemente las tres concepciones del mundo que predominan, de acuerdo a Dilthey, en la historia de la filosofía. Estas concepciones orientan no racionalmente nuestras preferencias y guían nuestras estimaciones, caracterizando así las distintas maneras de comprender la filosofía.
