| dc.description | Numerous human rights violations have been inflicted against women in Latin America. State violence has caused losses and silenced sequels, such as the involuntary loss of reproductive capacity through forced sterilizations between 1996 and 2001 in Peru. Through testimonies of affected women, we will analyze racial, aporophobic and gender violence, as well as resistance actions. We will rely on Judith Butler's concept of "mournful protest" to address the work of memory driven by women in mourning, seeking to revalue lives put at risk or left to die. This notion is relevant to reflect on the struggles between annulling or restoring a collective memory, and its importance in the preservation and demand for recognition of human rights violations without justice or reparation. | en-US |
| dc.description | Numerosas violaciones a los derechos humanos han sido infligidas contra mujeres en América Latina. La violencia estatal ha causado pérdidas y secuelas silenciadas, como la pérdida involuntaria de la capacidad reproductiva por esterilizaciones forzadas entre 1996 y 2001 en Perú. A través de testimonios de mujeres afectadas, analizaremos la violencia racial, aporofóbica y de género, así como las acciones de resistencia. Nos apoyaremos en el concepto de “protesta pesarosa” de Butler para abordar el trabajo de memoria impulsado por mujeres en duelo en su bЬsqueda por revalorizar sus vidas puestas en riesgo o dejadas morir. Esta noción se aparece como relevante para reflexionar sobre las pugnas entre anular o restituir una memoria colectiva, y su importancia en la preservación y la demanda de reconocimiento de violaciones a los derechos humanos sin justicia ni reparación.
