XXI, sin duda afecta el mundo legal con la consecuente redefinición del mismo; ésta cambia las coordenadas de espacio y tiempo del hombre actual. El propósito de este trabajo es plantear los retos a los que se ve abocado el universo jurídico con los avances tecnológicos y los cambios sustanciales en el ser y el actuar humanos, inscritos en esta época digital. Las implicaciones de un derecho virtual son portentosas para todas las áreas del derecho, en el derecho constitucional, el derecho de familia, el derecho comercial, derecho laboral, etc. Una de las afectaciones inmediatas está en la comprensión e interpretación de derechos y garantías emergentes, como la cibervida, sin desconocer las paradojas inmersas suscitadas por esta reconfiguración de la realidad social del hombre del s. XXI.
