In the last years, it has written and criticized a lot aboutthe old juridical %gures of the Civil Peruvian Code. It is the case ofthe barter contract that traditionally has been conceived as the predecessorof the contract of sale and, seemingly, absorbed by this last%gure. Nevertheless, across these lines we will show the variety ofde%nitions proposed by the juridical majority doctrine to effects ofbeing able to compare and know better, among other things, the wayhow there are valued the goods that are exchanged them, and to establishits correspondence with the offer of our codi%er. Likewise, wewill do a simple analysis about barter contract from the point of viewof the economic in order to verify its intimate relation with the priceand its economic – social evolution up to the contract of sale, whichwill bring important practical consequences as the inadmissibility ofthe injury to the case of the simple barter and the supposition of themixed price to the case of the judging barter.En los últimos años, mucho se ha escrito y criticado acerca de las viejas figuras jurídicas del Código Civil peruano. Es el caso del contrato de permuta que tradicionalmente ha sido concebido como el antecesor de la compraventa y, aparentemente, absorbido por esta última. Sin embargo, a través de estas líneas mostraremos la variedad de definiciones propuestas por la doctrina jurídica mayoritaria a efectos de poder compararlas y conocer mejor, entre otras cosas, la manera cómo se valoran los bienes que se intercambian, y establecer su correspondencia con la propuesta de nuestro codificador. Asimismo, haremos un sencillo análisis acerca del contrato de permuta o trueque desde el punto de vista del económico a fin de comprobar su entrañable relación con el precio y su evolución económico-social hasta el contrato de compraventa, lo que traerá importantes consecuencias prácticas como la improcedencia de la lesión al caso de la permuta simple y el supuesto del precio mixto al caso de la permuta estimativa.
