| dc.description | This paper presents the relations of the State and the Catholic Church in Chile between 1946 and 1958. It highlights the establishment of the constitutional framework of the Charter of 1925 that allowed its development and the friendly ties of ecclesiastical and civil powers is highlighted. The three constitutional governments, two radicals and one independent of national unity, had a permanent attitude of respect and closeness to the religious institution and its members. Similarly bishops and clergy were affable with administrative authorities and those in other areas of the country.It has to be considered that the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Chilean capital has traditionally assumed the representation of the national Church for all cases where the religious institution is related to the State and the Chilean Society, irrespective of other prelates who also held singular contacts. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo presenta las relaciones del Estado y la Iglesia Católica en Chile, entre 1946 y 1958. Se destaca el establecimiento del marco constitucional de la Carta de 1925 que le permitió su desenvolvimiento y los lazos amistosos de los poderes eclesiástico y civil. Los tres gobiernos constitucionales, dos radicales y uno independiente de unidad nacional, tuvieron una permanente actitud de respeto y cercanía con la institución religiosa y sus miembros. De igual modo, los obispos y los clérigos sostuvieron muestras afables con las autoridades administrativas y las de otras áreas del país.Se debe considerar que el arzobispo metropolitano de la capital chilena ha asumido tradicionalmente la representación de la Iglesia nacional para todos los casos en que la institución religiosa se relacione con el Estado y la Sociedad chilenos, sin menoscabar a otros prelados que también sostenían contactos singulares. | es-ES |
