Este artículo presenta un estudio longitudinal y cualitativo, cuyo objetivo es el análisis del desarrollo pragmático en español como segunda lengua (ESL) a nivel oral, escrito y de conciencia pragmática en la interlengua de inmigrantes haitianos en Chile, atendiendo a lo esencial que es esta competencia para que los colectivos de migrantes logren insertarse en la comunidad de acogida. Para esto analizamos las respuestas que aprendientes de ELE, de nivel inicial y básico, dieron a juegos de rol de petición en ESL, y también a cuestionarios de selección múltiple para juzgar la adecuación de enunciados en distintas situaciones. El análisis de este trabajo se realizó en dos etapas, de cuya comparación constatamos que, si bien se aprecia un desarrollo en el nivel inicial, quedan aspectos importantes por enseñar tras la finalización del curso de ELE, que tienden a un mejor posicionamiento de los haitianos dentro de la sociedad metaThis article presents an investigation about the pragmatic development in Spanish as second language (SSL) at oral and written level, and about the pragmatic consciousness in the interlanguage of Haitians immigrants in Chile. The importance of the sociopragmatic level to be immersed in the welcome community was considered to do this investigation, in which we analyzed the answers that Haitians -from the initial and basic level of SSL- gave to written and oral play roles for requests, and also to questionnaires for judging the adequacy of some statements in different situations. In order to determine a pragmatic development, this investigation was achieved in two phases, whose comparison showed that while it is appreciated some evolution in the initial level, there are still some important issues to teach after finishing SSL classes, which tend specially to better positioning Haitians immigrants in the local society
