Es llegar y llevar: construcciones multiverbales de verbo finito coordinadas en español

| dc.description | La presente investigación aborda las combinaciones verbales del tipo llegar y + verbo finito, que se documentan, con variantes léxicas, en distintas zonas del ámbito hispánico, siguiendo dos objetivos: (i) caracterizar estas combinaciones como construcciones monopredicativas y (ii) establecer el tipo de operador semántico que estas codifican. Con respecto al primer objetivo, y a partir de una crítica del concepto tradicional de perífrasis verbal, proponemos que estas combinaciones pueden tratarse como construcciones multiverbales (Aikhenvald, 2011) que expresan un único predicado, aun cuando coordinen dos verbos finitos, condición que, al menos bajo las caracterizaciones tradicionales, las excluye por definición del grupo de las perífrasis verbales. Proporcionamos argumentos de carácter formal y semántico en favor de esta hipótesis. Desde el punto de vista formal, se revisan, entre otras, las restricciones sobre el orden de los verbos integrantes, la extracción de constituyentes y la identidad sintáctica de argumentos correferentes; con relación al plano semántico, se presenta la compatibilidad de llegar y con verbos meteorológicos. Con respecto al segundo objetivo, proponemos que el verbo auxiliar de estas construcciones corresponde a un operador aspectual de tipo interruptivo, es decir, indica la ocurrencia de un evento que interrumpe una normalidad definida contextualmente por una serie previa de eventos. Esta interpretación es contrastada con algunas caracterizaciones anteriores que aluden al aspecto ingresivo, el aspecto completivo o la admiratividad. | dc.description | This work aims to address verbal combinations of the llegar y + finite verb type, which are documented in different Spanish areas, with different lexical sources. We adopt two goals: (i) to characterize these constructions as monopredicational ones and (ii) to establish which semantic operator they encode. With respect to the first goal, we critically revise the traditional concept of verbal periphrasis and propose that the concept of multi-verb construction (Aikhenvald, 2011) can be used instead, as these constructions express a single predicate, even though two finite verbs are coordinated, a fact that would exclude them from the group of verbal periphrasis as usually understood. This claim is supported by both formal and semantic evidence. From the formal point of view, we analyze order restrictions, constituent extraction and formal identity of co-referent arguments. From the semantic point of view, we show that llegar y admits weather verbs. With respect to our second goal, we propose that the auxiliary verb llegar expresses an interruptive aspectual operator, that is, it marks the sudden occurrence of an event that interrupts the normal course of events as contextually defined. Further, we contrast this interpretation with some previous accounts in which ingressive aspect, completive aspect or mirativity are claimed as main semantic values. Under our analysis, such values can be inferentially derived from a core interruptive aspect value. | en-US |
