| dc.description | El presente trabajo tiene por objeto analizar los errores más comunes que comete un grupo de hablantes de español de Chile, estudiantes de inglés como segunda lengua, en cuanto a la pronunciación de segmentos consonánticos. El corpus incluye 540 oraciones grabadas por dos grupos de estudiantes del programa de Licenciatura en Lengua y Literatura Inglesas de la Universidad de Chile. Un grupo corresponde a alumnos de tercer año y el segundo grupo está compuesto por alumnos del cuarto y último año del mismo programa. Una vez grabadas las oraciones se analizan las desviaciones de pronunciación contrastándolas con la forma ideal establecida por diccionarios de pronunciación de la variedad culta del inglés británico conocida como Pronunciación Recibida y se calculan los resultados. Estos muestran que los errores más comunes, en ambos grupos de sujetos, son aquellos producidos por interferencia grafémica y que el grupo que comete el mayor número de errores es el de los alumnos de tercer año. | es-ES |
| dc.description | This paper aims to analyse the most common errors produced by a group of speakers of Chilean Spanish, learners of English as a second language, when pronouncing consonant segments. The corpus includes 540 sentences recorded by two groups of students of the Bachelor’s degree in English language and literature at Universidad de Chile. One group is composed by third-year students and the second group is formed by students of fourth (and last) year of the same program. Once the sentences were recorded, the researchers analyzed the deviances in the pronunciation of consonant sounds by contrasting them to the ideal forms established by pronouncing dictionaries of the standard variety of English known as Received Pronunciation. The results show that the most common deviances, in both groups, are those caused by graphemic interference and that the group that committed the biggest number of deviant forms was the one composed by third-year students. | en-US |
