| dc.description | The journalistic exercise has been diversified. Not only new technologies have contributed to provide different views of the reality of this trade, but also theoretical approaches different from the traditional ones. One of them is the Newsmaking approach or construction of the news. This perspective has been useful for studying the productive routines of journalists who write for traditional media. However, their study may also be useful to study other less orthodox genre such as the chronicle. We start considering that one of the modalities of Newsmaking (not the only one) is to study the reality of reporters in situ, in their places of work. That is, in the newsrooms. There it is possible to focus on the routines that this theory aims to explain. In the case of the chroniclers it is different, because most of them are freelance authors; that is to say that they elaborate the proposed or commissioned stories without stepping on a newsroom. The editor's guide is done remotely, usually by email. However, even in these cases, the features of their routines can be determined, because the production process is understood as the practices or procedures with which the chroniclers construct reality, despite their freelance status. And although the way in which the chronicle is written is different, because in this genre predominates the use of procedures typical of literature, there are aspects such as the selection and construction of topics that are similar to the configuration of the news. That being said, the challenge of this work is to identify and explain, from the theoretical focus of Newsmaking, those procedures and routines of both newsroom reporters and freelance authors, and to find similarities and differences. | en-US |
| dc.description | El ejercicio periodístico se ha diversificado. No solo las nuevas tecnologías han contribuido a brindar miradas distintas de la realidad de este oficio, sino también abordajes teóricos distintos a los tradicionales. Uno de ellos es el enfoque del Newsmaking o construcción de la noticia. Esta perspectiva ha sido de utilidad para estudiar las rutinas productivas de los periodistas que escriben para medios tradicionales. Sin embargo, su estudio también puede ser útil para estudiar otros géneros menos ortodoxos como la crónica. Partimos considerando que una de las modalidades del Newsmaking (no la única) es estudiar la realidad de los reporteros in situ, en sus lugares de trabajo. Es decir, en las salas de redacción. Ahí es posible enfocar las rutinas que esta teoría pretende explicar. En el caso de los cronistas es distinto, porque la mayoría son autores freelances; es decir que elaboran los temas propuestos o encargados sin pisar una sala de redacción. La guía del editor se la hace a distancia, por lo general mediante correo electrónico. No obstante, aún en estos casos se pueden determinar los rasgos de sus rutinas, porque el proceso de producción lo entendemos como las prácticas o procederes con las cuales los cronistas construyen la realidad, pese a su condición de freelances. Y aunque la forma en que está escrita la crónica es distinta, porque en este género predomina el empleo de procedimientos propios de la literatura, hay aspectos como la selección y construcción de los temas que son semejantes a la configuración de la noticia. Dicho esto, el desafío de este trabajo es identificar y explicar, a partir del enfoque teórico del Newsmaking, esos procederes y rutinas tanto de los reporteros de planta como de los autores freelances, encontrar similitudes y diferencias. | es-ES |
