| dc.description | Time is not what the hands of the clock tell, nor is there a single concept of time imposed by the dominant culture, as linear time. There are different visions of time depending on the philosophy of the people. In the Mapuche culture, time is cyclic, and this is determined by the cycles of nature; the present is life with nature because for life and wellbeing to exist life and, individuals and nature or the earth should be in balance and permanent reciprocity. Therefore, to explain time in the Mapuche culture, it is necessary to know its history, cosmogony, the concept of human being, nature, and how they build knowledge. This study discusses these topics from the philosophy, linguistics and history of mapuche people. This study aims to know and explain a part of Mapuche way of thinking, from a dialogic experience of dialogue between cultures and disciplines. One conclusion, among others, is that understanding the mapuche cyclic concept of time and its close relation to nature may help us face the urgent environmental crisis facing our planet. | en-US |
| dc.description | El tiempo no es lo que marcan las manecillas del reloj ni existe un sólo concepto de tiempo, el tiempo lineal, como lo impone la cultura dominante; hay diferentes nociones según sea la filosofía del pueblo. En la cultura mapuche el tiempo es cíclico y éste está determinado por los ciclos de la naturaleza; el presente es la vida con la naturaleza porque para que exista vida y bienestar, persona y naturaleza o tierra deben estar en relación de equilibrio y en reciprocidad permanente. Por lo mismo, para explicar el tiempo es necesario conocer la historia, la cosmogonía, el concepto de ser humano, de naturaleza y saber como se construye el conocimiento; por ello, en este estudio se abordan estos temas desde la filosofía, la lingüística y la historia de los mapuche. Este estudio tiene como propósito conocer y explicar una parte del pensamiento mapuche, desde una experiencia de diálogo entre culturas y disciplinas. Se concluye que la comprensión del tiempo cíclico mapuche y su relación con la naturaleza puede ayudarnos a enfrentar la urgente crisis medioambiental del planeta. | es-ES |
| dc.description | O tempo não é o que marca os ponteiros do relógio, nem existe um único conceito de tempo, o tempo linear, como a cultura dominante impõe; existem noções diferentes, dependendo da filosofia do povo. Na cultura mapuche, o tempo é cíclico e isso é determinado pelos ciclos da natureza; o presente é a vida com a natureza, porque para que exista vida e bem-estar, pessoa e natureza ou terra devem estar em uma relação de equilíbrio e reciprocidade permanente. Por essa razão, para explicar o tempo é necessário conhecer a história, a cosmogonia, o conceito de ser humano, de natureza e saber como o conhecimento é construído; Portanto, este estudo aborda as questões da filosofia, da linguística e da história dos mapuche. Este estudo tem como objetivo conhecer e explicar uma parte do pensamento mapuche, a partir de uma experiência de diálogo entre culturas e disciplinas.
