| dc.description | Party and food are two elements closely linked to the external image of customs in Spain. On the basis that there is a fundamental relationship between these two events— nutrition and festive celebration—several relevant elements are analysed using the evidence from a variety of local festivals throughout the country. Some traditional celebrations are specifically exposed, such as the use of food as a gift or present; the food battles in certain recently created festivals and, finally, the “patrimonialization” and consumption of local culinary forms in the festivals as a way of legitimizing and disseminating the primary products and the territories themselves within the national and transnational cultural consumption system. | en-US |
| dc.description | La fiesta y la comida son dos elementos muy ligados con la imagen externa de las costumbres en España. Sobre la base de que existe una relación fundamental entre estos dos hechos —la alimentación y la celebración festiva—, se analizan varios elementos relevantes utilizando la variedad de fiestas locales en todo el país. Se exponen de manera específica la aparición de alimentos como don o regalo en algunas celebraciones tradicionales; las batallas de comida en ciertos festivales creados modernamente y, por fin, la patrimonialización y el consumo de alimentos y formas culinarias locales en las fiestas como una forma de legitimar y divulgar los productos primarios y los propios territorios dentro de un consumo cultural nacional y transnacional. | es-ES |
