dc.descriptionThe last years have witnessed the development of a questioning of the top-down character in urban planning and the inefficiencies sometimes evidenced by bureaucratic and centralized programs when dealing with the problems of the city. Consequently, there are today different terms (“open-source urban planning”, “do-it-yourself urban planning”, “smart citizens”, “participative urban planning”, “tactic urban planning”, etc.) to refer to more distributed, located and temporary forms of urban design. This scenario has led several authors to rethink the social, material and political conditions for a citizens’ urban planning that can bring into existence the right to a city and to the self-production of urban infrastructures. Starting from an urban hacking project with homeless persons in La Chimba neighborhood, this article explores the possibilities of this type of interventions, particularly in respect to the redistribution of abilities between the experts and the lay person, between designer and non-designer. The description of the different prototyping phases of the project evidence a move from a user-centered design to a collaborative end extended design, where those affected are no longer treated as mere users, but start to become co-designers and visualizers of their own lives.en-US
dc.descriptionLos últimos años se ha venido desarrollando un cuestionamiento al carácter top-down de la pla­nificación urbana y a las ineficiencias que muchas veces manifiestan los programas burocráticos y centralizados para observar los problemas de la ciudad. Así, actualmente existen diferentes térmi­nos (“urbanismo de código abierto”, “do it yourself urbanism”, “smart citizens”, “urbanismo participa­tivo”, “urbanismo táctico”, etc.) para referirse a for­mas más distribuidas, situadas y temporales de ur­banismo. Este escenario ha llevado a varios autores a replantearse las condiciones sociales, materiales y políticas para un urbanismo ciudadano, que haga tangible el derecho a la ciudad y la autoproducción de infraestructuras urbanas. A partir de un proyec­to de urban hacking con personas en situación de calle en el barrio La Chimba, este artículo explora las posibilidades de este tipo de intervenciones, en particular en lo que respecta a la redistribución de las inteligencias entre expertos y profanos, entre diseñador y no-diseñador. A través de la descripción de las diferentes fases de prototipado del proyecto, se mostrará un desplaza­miento desde un diseño centrado en el usuario a un diseño colaborativo y extendido, donde los afecta­dos dejan de ser tratados como meros usuarios, y pasan a convertirse en co-diseñadores y visualiza­dores de sus propias vidas.es-ES
