This study evaluates the psychomotor profile identified under the statistical average in children of both genders from three schools in the Metropolitan Region of Chile, according to the test instrument of Vítor da Fonseca. The methodology consisted in a cross-sectional descriptive study, within a quantitative framework, with an intentional sample of 31 subjects. Participation included a control group that had not received a psychomotor intervention and a statistical analysis was employed through systematic work through the use of SPSS software version 22.0. Consequently, in the results it was determined that there is an inaccuracy of control, which leads to areas of psychomotor development that are slightly affected and to areas of the dispráxic profile, moving away from the statistical average for a child of his age suggested by the test. The evidence of the area of psychomotor development with the best score is laterality, followed by tonicity, balance and notion of the body. The limits of this investigation are of a particular order, and may serve as a specific reference; its methodology can be extrapolated, applied and used with other study groups.Este estudio evalúa el perfil psicomotor identificado bajo la media estadística en niños de ambos géneros de tres instituciones escolares de la Región Metropolitana de Chile, según el instrumento test de Vítor da Fonseca. La metodología consistió en un estudio descriptivo trasversal, dentro de un marco cuantitativo, con una muestra intencionada de 31 sujetos. La participación contó con un grupo de control que no había recibido una intervención psicomotriz y se empleó un análisis estadístico a través de un trabajo sistemático mediante el uso del software SPSS versión 22.0. Consecuentemente, en los resultados se determinó que existe una imprecisión del control, lo que conlleva a áreas de desarrollo psicomotor ligeramente afectadas y a áreas del perfil dispráxico, alejándose de la media estadística para un niño de su edad sugerida por el test. La evidencia del área de desarrollo psicomotor con mejor puntaje es la lateralidad, seguida de la tonicidad, equilibrio y noción del cuerpo. Los límites de esta investigación son de orden particular, pudiendo servir como referencia específica; su metodología puede extrapolarse, aplicarse y utilizarse con otros grupos de estudio.
