This paper analyzes some morphosyntactic and lexical aspects in the translation into Spanish of John L. Austin’s How to do things with words, with the aim of studying its degree of devi-ation from the original text and in order to verify its situation between foreignization and domestication, that is usually the preferred choice in philosophical translations. Conclusions will be used to evaluate the convenience of a new translation of this work for the hispanic academic field.Este artículo analiza algunos aspectos morfosintácticos y léxicos de la traducción al español de How to do things with words, de John L. Austin, con el propósito de estudiar su grado de desviación con respecto al texto original y de comprobar si se orienta hacia la extranjerización o hacia la domesticación, que suele ser la opción preferida en las traducciones de filosofía. Las conclusiones servirán para valorar la conveniencia de una nueva traducción de esta obra para el ámbito académico hispánico.
