School engagement plays an important role in achieving students' learning objectives, and can affect different educational variables; however, its measurement in the Latin American context has aroused relatively recent interest. This narrative review aims to synthesize and compare the findings of scientific publications at the level of Latin America in the last five years, around the school commitment variable, considering the different existing measurement instruments. A total of 14 articles were selected, highlighting in the results the most frequent use of the Scale of Commitment to Schoolwork by Rigo and Donolo in four articles, and that Chile is the country that has made the most publications on this subject with five articles. It is concluded that the dimensions of school commitment, cognitive, affective, behavioral, and in some studies, agentic, present a different behavior for each variable with which a relationship is established, which is why it is better to carry out a separate analysis for the proposal of suitable strategies.El compromiso escolar cumple un papel importante en el logro de los objetivos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes, y puede afectar distintas variables educativas, sin embargo, su medición en el contexto latinoamericano ha despertado un interés relativamente reciente. El objetivo de la presente revisión narrativa es sintetizar y comparar los hallazgos de las publicaciones científicas a nivel de Latinoamérica de los últimos cinco años, en torno a la variable compromiso escolar, considerando los distintos instrumentos de medición existentes. Se seleccionaron un total de 14 artículos, destacando en los resultados el uso más frecuente de la Escala de Compromiso hacia las Tareas Escolares de Rigo y Donolo en cuatro artículos, y que Chile es el país que más publicaciones ha realizado sobre este tema con cinco artículos. Se concluye que las dimensiones del compromiso escolar, cognitiva, afectiva, conductual, y en algunos estudios, la agéntica, presentan un comportamiento diferente para cada variable con la que se establezca relación, razón por la cual es mejor realizar un análisis por separado para el planteamiento de estrategias idóneas.
