| dc.description | This article addresses the role of vocation in the practice of teaching within the framework of the literature on teacher professionalization. Using a qualitative exploratory design, it investigates the characteristics of professionalization and teaching vocation raised by pedagogy students who currently work as teachers in educational establishments in Chile. The results show that teachers conceptualize their vocation with elements of all types of vocation currently dominant in the field. The importance of knowing teachers in depth at the intersection of these two key concepts is discussed. | en-US |
| dc.description | Este artículo aborda el rol de la vocación en el ejercicio de la docencia dentro del marco de la literatura sobre profesionalización docente. Utilizando un diseño exploratorio cualitativo se indaga en las características de la profesionalización y de la vocación docente que levantan estudiantes de pedagogía que trabajan actualmente como docentes en establecimientos educacionales en Chile. Los resultados muestran que los/as docentes conceptualizan su vocación con elementos de todos los tipos de vocación actualmente dominantes en el campo. Se discute la importancia de conocer en profundidad a los/as docentes en la intersección de estos dos conceptos clave. | es-ES |
