dc.descriptionThis study arose from the interest in knowing the changes that have taken place in our society, through current adolescent’s “slang”. Three categories of analysis, corresponding to sexuality, law (as a relationship with authority) and social, were established from the theoretical presuppositions of the Freudian Psychoanalytic Theory. The theory suggests a new update of the Oedipus in Adolescence; which implies, the arise of sexuality, the addition and acknowledgment of Father's law and an opening to a world with other people as an effect of the Castration complex. These points provided a global overview of what is currently happening in the Subject as well as its manifestations in language and its particular forms, such as “slang”. Thus, this study analyzes the most frequently used linguistic expressions (“slang”) by adolescents between the age of 13 - 18 years from a private school in the city of Quito. The information was collected through Focus-groups and the obtained data were classified, according to the gathered terms, in subcategories that were then submitted to analysis and discussion. Important information about Adolescent’s established ways of exchange was found, thus showing us the contemporary social bond.en-US
dc.descriptionEl presente estudio se realizó a partir del interés por conocer los cambios que se han producido a nivel de la sociedad, a través de la jerga de los adolescentes. Tres categorías de análisis que corresponden a la sexualidad, la ley en tanto relación con la autoridad y lo social, fueron establecidas a partir de los presupuestos teóricos de la teoría psicoanalítica freudiana, que plantea una reactualización del Edipo en la adolescencia, lo que implica, la emergencia de lo sexual, la incorporación y asunción de la ley del padre y la apertura al mundo con los otros como efecto de la operación de la castración. Estos puntos proporcionaron un panorama global de lo que actualmente ocurre a nivel del sujeto y sus manifestaciones, expresadas en la lengua y sus formas particulares de uso, como es el caso de la jerga. Así, el estudio analiza las expresiones lingüísticas: (“jerga”) que,  adolescentes de entre 13 y 18 años de un colegio privado de la ciudad de Quito, usan con mayor frecuencia. La recolección de la información se realizó por medio de grupos focales y los datos obtenidos se agruparon de acuerdo a los términos recabados, obteniendo subcategorías que fueron sometidas al análisis y discusión, arrojando información sobre los modos de intercambio que establecen los adolescentes, dando cuenta así, del lazo social contemporáneo.es-ES
