In this article, we will try to approach an experience based on the interaction of the people inside the museum, starting from a theoretical reflection on the historical relation of this cultural institution and the social integration, then to speak of one of the clearest cases of this Community action in museums of Spain: The Cultural Volunteer of Seniors.This initiative is a social strengthening activity that is closely related to the generativity that, by this means, the person and social groups acquire new competencies, which allows to make a society stronger and hence its importance to be addressed in this magazine. Never had there been so many older people willing to participate actively in the social community and is something that is going unnoticed for the history of Social Work.En este artículo trataremos de acercarnos a una experiencia basada en la interacción de las personas dentro del museo, partiendo de una reflexión teórica sobre la relación histórica de esta institución cultural y la integración social, para después hablar de uno de los casos más claros de esa acción comunitaria en los museos de España: el Voluntariado Cultural de Mayores. Esta iniciativa es una actividad de fortalecimiento social que está muy relacionada con la generatividad que, por este medio, la persona y los grupos sociales adquieren nuevas competencias, lo que permite hacer más fuerte a una sociedad y de ahí su importancia para tratarlo en esta revista. Nunca antes habían existido tantas personas mayores dispuestas a participar activamente en la comunidad social y es algo que está pasando desapercibido para la historia del Trabajo Social.
