Abstract
The author explores several interpretations of the curricular theory, putting forwardhow is it that this theory and the school of National State are both conceived topromote a homogeneous citizenship. The analytic work comes from the recognition of the existence of multiple culturalforms that are unattended by western culture, with a particular focus on the LatinAmerican case. The author progressively explains how is it that cultural diversityfaces multiple tensions in its way to become the object in the school system and theways by which curricula and national and international mass exams put pressure onthe educational work towards the setting of homogenous practices.
