This article seeks to describe the academic and public policy background that support the proposal for the creation of a new career of Integrated Arts Pedagogy, unprecedented in Chile, developed by the Faculty of Education and Humanities of the Universidad del Bío-Bío in Chillán, based on a comparative study of the undergraduate offerings in the area. In its second part, it analyzes its curriculum and graduate profile, which point to a comprehensive view of arts education, agreed upon after a survey - diagnosis - in which the school environment, students, employers and teachers participated. The results of the survey reveal the interest that the proposal of a pedagogy in Integrated Arts arouses among the secondary public, a fact that evidences the need for professional specialists in this area of knowledge, endorsing the relevance and contribution that the creation of the career has for the region and the contribution to the goals of arts education at the undergraduate level in the Ñuble Region.El presente artículo busca describir de los antecedentes académicos y de política pública que amparan la propuesta de creación de una nueva carrera de Pedagogía en Artes Integradas, inédita en Chile, elaborada por la Facultad de Educación y Humanidades de la Universidad del Bío-Bío en Chillán, a partir de un estudio comparativo de las ofertas de pregrado en el área. En su segunda parte, se analiza su malla curricular y perfil de egreso que apuntan a una mirada integral de la enseñanza de las artes, consensuada tras una encuesta – diagnóstico-, en el que participó el medio escolar, estudiantes, empleadores/as y profesores/as. Los resultados de la encuesta apuntan revelan el interés que suscita entre el público secundario la propuesta de una pedagogía en Artes Integradas, hecho que evidencia la necesidad de profesionales especialistas en esta área del conocimiento, avalando la pertinencia y contribución que la creación de la carrera tiene para la región y el aporte a las metas de la educación artística a nivel de pregrado en la Región de Ñuble.
