POSITIVE BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT STRATEGIES AND INTERVENTIONS USED BY PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

dc.descriptionLas personas con discapacidad intelectual pueden presentar conductas desafiantes alterando la dinámica familiar, siendo relevante indagar el rol y acciones de apoyo de los padres. El propósito fue realizar un estudio de revisión de artículos abordando las estrategias de apoyo conductual positivo utilizadas por padres de niños/as con discapacidad intelectual. El método fue un análisis descriptivo de tipo revisión sistemática, bajo la técnica de la observación y el análisis de la literatura, en las bases de datos ERIC, Scopus y SciELO, publicadas entre el año 2002 y 2024. Recopilando 155 artículos acordes a la temática, finalmente se seleccionan 8 de estos. Los resultados indican que los estudios han sido publicados mayoritariamente el año 2019 y en EEUU, su metodología es de carácter cualitativo y como técnicas destacan las escalas. La conclusión desprendida de los estudios es que los padres de niños con discapacidad intelectual que participan en programas de apoyo conductual logran mejorar las conductas problemáticas de sus hijos y disminuir el estrés familiar.es-ES
dc.descriptionPeople with intellectual disabilities may present challenging behaviors altering the family dynamics, being relevant to investigate the role and support actions of parents. The purpose was to conduct an article review study addressing the positive behavioral support strategies used by parents of children with intellectual disabilities. The method was a descriptive analysis of systematic review type, under the technique of observation and analysis of the literature, in the ERIC, Scopus and SciELO databases, published between 2002 and 2024. A total of 155 articles were collected according to the thematic, and 8 of these were finally selected. The results indicate that the studies have been published mostly in 2019 and in the USA, their methodology is qualitative and the techniques used are mainly scales. The conclusion drawn from the studies is that parents of children with intellectual disabilities who participate in behavioral support programs manage to improve their children's problem behaviors and reduce family stress.en-US
